About
High-Quality, Efficient Work
I am a certified translator with over a decade of experience. I translate in both directions (English-Norwegian and Norwegian-English), and in the latter I am government authorised. I cover most subject areas, particularly petroleum engineering (I have worked in the oil industry for four years), legal, academic (humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and others), IT, marketing and finance.

Oil & Gas
I have previously worked for four years as Lead Translator for a major oil service company on the Norwegian continental shelf. I have a good understanding of technical genres and can translate technical data sheets, study reports, financial texts, HR, general marketing and the vast majority of other text types relating to the oil and gas industry.
Legal
I am experienced and certified in translating contracts, terms and conditions, legislation and other types of legal texts. This involves specific knowledge of the different legal systems in various English-speaking regions and how these affect my choice of the most appropriate English term for a Norwegian legal term. I will adapt my translation according to where it is intended to be used, for instance in England/Wales, Scotland, a particular state in the United States etc.
Certified Translations
I provide certified, signed and stamped translations from Norwegian to English of official documents such as marriage certificates, certificates of name change, birth certificates etc.
IT
For several years I have provided high-quality Norwegian translation with a quick turnaround time for household brand names in the IT sector. Specific text types include software strings, help articles, product descriptions etc., as well as more creative descriptions of e.g. computer games and apps.
HR/General Business Texts
Particularly when translating more non-specialised texts such as HR and business documents, I always focus on making the target language sound just as natural as the source. Here I draw on my native-level competence in both Norwegian and English, as well as my business experience in both the UK and Norway.
